Her Royal Highness Princess Muna al Hussein is considered a key person of supporting nursing in Jordan and worldwide as well. HRH serves as patron for the Easter Mediterranean Regional Office for Nursing and Midwifery. She helped found Princess Muna College for Nursing in 1962, which is now the School of Nursing of Mu'tah University. HRH was appointed as president of the Jordanian Nursing Council since its foundation in 2002. She gave the keynote speech for many international nursing conferences around the world. In October, 2009, she was honored at the American Nursing Credentialing Center National Magnet Conference as the first recipient of an award created in her name to recognize an individual who demonstrates dedication to nursing and innovative approaches to health care.
