Research Aims

This research aims to work on selecting the most appropriate water harvesting sites (dams and bonds) in the Jordanian Badia through the use of GIS and remote sensing and local knowledge. This project will benefit the local community, the ministries and departments concerned with the development of water resources in Jordan. In addition the outcomes of this research will be used as guidelines for students and decision-makers that explain how to work on selecting the most appropriate water harvesting sites.

 

Research Title

Design and testing of rain water collecting systems and the extent of their applicability in the northern and southern parts of Jordan.

Research Aims

The project aims to design, test and implement rain water collecting systems in specific areas in the northern and southern parts of Jordan. It will be implemented through the local community participation to increase awareness and the sense of ownership and responsibility of infrastructures and thereby enhance the likelihood of having a sustainable development.

 

Research Title

The selection of a national water carrier route through the use of GIS

Research Aims

The main aim of this project is to address the shortfall in water supply to the various provinces through selecting an appropriate route for a national water carrier that links the demand areas with the supply ones.
