The purpose of this study is to find out the degree to which the geography books of the higher elementary stage include the concepts of environmental education from the point of view of the social studies teachers in Zarqa governorate using the descriptive approach. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher prepared a list in the fields of environmental education concepts presented in the books and presented them to a group of arbitrators and experts And the competence to verify its credibility. The tool consisted of (57) paragraphs divided into five areas of concepts of environmental education: environmental concepts and environmental system, environmental problems and human relationship to the environment, natural environmental phenomena, the problems of the Jordanian environment, Environment, Ethics and Environmental Dealing Skills The results of the study showed that the degree of inclusion of geography books in the basic stage of the concepts of environmental education was low, with an average of( 2.32) and a standard deviation of( 0.51) as a whole. The human relationship to the environment at a low degree, natural environmental phenomena at a low degree, the problems of the Jordanian environment by a medium degree, and finally the protection of the environment and the ethics and skills of environmental handling to a medium degree. In the light of the conclusions reached, a set of recommendations was proposed.
