هدفت هذه الدراسة الى استقصاء اثر استخدام مجسمات افلام الكرتون المتحركة على مهارات المحادثة والدافعية لدى متعلمي اللغة الانجليزية كلغة اجنبية في الصف الثامن الاساسي . تكونت عينة الدراسة من 50 طالبة من متعلمي اللغة الانجليزية كلغة اجنبية في مدرسة الزنية الاساسية للبنات خلال الفصل الثاني من عام 2017/2018 حيث وزعت العينة على مجموعتين المجموعة التجريبية 25 طالبة والمجموعة الضابطة 25 طالبة وقد تم جمع البيانات خلال 10 اسابيع . بعد ذلك تم عمل امتحان قبلي وامتحان بعدي على مرحلتين المرحلة الاولى لمهارات المحادثة والمرحلة الثانية للاستبانة . حيث قسمت مهارات المحادثة الى( نماء المفردات والقواعد , الاصالة والثقافة , والواقعية , المحسنات البديعية والتعابير الاصطلاحية , والكلام بثقة بدون خوف او عقبات ).
احتوت الاستبانة على 10 عناصر لاستخدام مجسمات افلام الكرتون كعامل للدافعية في صفوف متعلمي اللغة الانجليزية لتقييم اثر استخدام مجسمات افلام الكرتون للصف الثامن من متعلمي اللغة الانجليزية كلغة اجنبية .
خضع الطالبات في المجموعتين الى امتحان محادثة قبلي في الفصل الثاني من عام 2017/2018 لتحديد مستواهم الاصلي في المحادثة قبل البدء بالتجربة. بعد مضي 10 اسابيع تم عقد نفس الامتحان للمجموعتين وسمي بالامتحان البعدي حيث تم بعد التجربة .
اشارت نتائج الدراسة الى ان المجموعة التجريبية ادت افضل من المجموعة الضابطة في مهارات المحادثة ويعزى ذلك الى الطريقة في التدريس التي استخدم فيها افلام المجسمات الكرتونية .
واظهرت النتائج ان الطالبات في المجموعة التجريبية تطوروا في مجالات المفردات والقواعد اكثر من المجالات الاخرى. بينما ابدوا تحسنا واضحا في استخدام المحسنات البديعية والتعابير الاصطلاحية . بالاضافة الى ذلك فقد اظهرت النتائج ان الدافعية ازدات عند المجموعة التجريبية اكثر من الضابطة .

This study aimed to investigate the effect of using animated cartoon films on eighth grade EFL learners' speaking skills and motivation. The participants of the study consisted of 50 eighth grade EFL learners studying at Al-Znayya Basic School for Girls, during the academic year 2017/2018. The participants of the study were of two sections; section one consisted of (25) students, which was selected as an experimental group, and section two consisted of (25) students, which was assigned as a control group. Data were collected within 10 weeks.
The pre and post-tests consisted of two parts; part one is a speaking test that covers speaking skills, whereas the second part is a questionnaire. The speaking skills include (vocabulary growth and grammar, authenticity and culture, non-verbal and supra-segmental aspects, figures of speech and idiomatic expressions, and speaking confidently without hesitation and obstacle).
The questionnaire consisted of 25 items on the use of animated cartoon films as motivating factors in foreign language classrooms. To assess the effect of using animated cartoon films on the eighth grade EFL learners' speaking skills and motivation, students in both sections sat for a speaking test at the beginning of the second semester of the academic year 2017/2018 to determine their actual speaking skills before starting the experiment. Ten weeks later, the same test and questionnaire were administrated as a post-test.
The results of the study indicated that the experimental group performed better than the control group in the speaking skills due to the new method of teaching that is using animated cartoon films. Moreover, the findings of the study revealed that the experimental group students developed in some speaking skills such as vocabulary growth and grammar more efficiently than others. While they have not shown much progress in the non-verbal and supra-segmental aspects. Additionally, the finding of the study revealed that using animated cartoon films increased the experimental group students' motivation. Accordingly, a set of recommendations were provided at the end of this study
