تجادل هذه الأطروحة بوجود استمرارية سردية بين رواية جورج أورويل 1984 ورواية راسل هووبن ريدلي ووكر، موضحة هذا الارتباط من خلال إطار نظري بعنوان نبوءة الذكاء الاصطناعي القوطية، تستكشف نبوءة الذكاء الاصطناعي القوطية صعود أنظمة الذكاء الاصطناعي والمراقبة، وذروتها، ثم سقوطها، فوجودها الطيفي بعد زوالها من العالم، معتمدةً على أدوات إنتاج المعنى مثل الاستحواذ والأسطورة والطقس لضمان استمرار الشبكات والمؤسسات. فخلف البُنى التحتية المادية التي تدعمها، تظل أنظمة التحكم في الفكر وإدارة السلوك قائمة، متجاوزة أو متعاونة مع التجارب والحدود الجسدية التي أنشأتها، دون أن تكون مرتبطة بزمن أو مكان محدّد. ترتكز هذه الدراسة على مقاربات الأدب المقارن التي تمزج بين نظريات قوطية حول الغرابة، والطيفية، والذاكرة الموروثة، وبين الخطابات المعاصرة حول الحوكمة الخوارزمية، وما بعد الإنسانية، والاستحواذ بوصفه رمزاً ثقافياً ذا دلالة. تُفسَّر رواية1984 كنص يبرز ذروة القبضة الخوارزمية عبر مراقبتها الانضباطية، ولغة ?نيوسبيك? بوصفها محواً لغوياً، وغرفة 101 بوصفها تجسيداً للخوف التنبؤي. أما رواية ريدلي ووكر فتُؤطَّر كنص يحتوي على بقايا العواقب غير المقصودة المنهارة، وتقنيات اللغة وقد تحولت إلى أساطير مشوهة، وعروض طقسية، ولهجات ضائعة في الترجمة.
وتخلص الدراسة إلى أنّ القوى التكنولوجية وإن كانت لا تنفصل عن الضوابط المؤسسية أو الجسدية أو الإقليمية، فإنها لا تكفّ عن ممارسة السيطرة؛ بل إنّ السلطة التي تتشتت مع المؤسسة تُعاد تجسيدها في الذاكرة الثقافية وتُحفَر من جديد في شكل أساطير عن القوى والرموز والأيقونات الناتجة عن تبعاتها الباقية والمحظورات المرتبطة بها. وهكذا، فإن ?نبوءة الذكاء الاصطناعي القوطية? وآثارها تقترب من الأشكال المستدامة التي ستنحتها المخلوقات الحاملة للأدوات في كارثة الأنثروبوسين على سطوح الأدب والثقافة

This thesis argues for a narrative continuum between George Orwell's 1984 and Russell Hoban's Riddley Walker, describing the connection through a framework entitled the Gothic AI Prophecy. The Gothic AI Prophecy explores the rise, zenith, fall, then posthumous spectral existence of artificial intelligence and surveillance systems, looking to meaning-making tools such as haunting, myth, and ritual for surviving networks and institutions. Beneath the tangible infrastructures that support them, systems of thought control and behavior management that transcend or collaborate with the experiences and boundaries of the bodies that built them continue to exist, unfixed to any specific time or place. This study draws on comparative literary studies that include an amalgamation of Gothic theories surrounding the uncanny, the spectral, and inherited memory with contemporary discourse around algorithmic governance, posthumanism, and haunting as a culturally significant motif. 1984 is interpreted as a text that highlights the peak of algorithmic grip through its disciplinary surveillance, Newspeak as linguistic erasure, and Room 101 as predictive fear. Riddley Walker is then framed as a text that contains the remnants of the collapsed unintended consequentialism and linguistic technologies turned myth as mutated fables, ritualized performances, and dialects lost in translation. The study finds that while technological powers may not escape institutional, corporeal, or territorial controls, they never cease to control; rather, the power dispersed with the institution is rematerialized in cultural memory and refossilized in the forms of myths about the powers, symbols, and avatars of their remaining consequences and taboos against them. The ?Gothic AI Prophecy? and its marks thus approach the lasting shapes that tool-wielding creatures of the Anthropocenic cataclysm will carve over the surfaces of literature and culture |
