تناولت هذه الدراسة أحد أعلام البلاغة العربية في العصر الحديث، وهو الدكتور محمد بركات أبو علي-رحمه الله-، أستاذ البلاغة في الجامعة الأردنية في عمّان؛ للوقوف على ما قدمه من إسهامات بلاغية ونقدية أثرت الدرس البلاغي النقدي الحديث؛ وبما طرحه من قضايا بلاغية ونقدية في مؤلفاته، وبيان مدى تأثره بالتراث البلاغي النقدي، وما قدمه من جهود في خدمة اللغة العربية، والقرآن الكريم، واستنباط آرائه المبثوثة في ثنايا مؤلفاته.
واتكأت الباحثة في هذه الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، فوقفت على بعض مؤلفات محمد بركات بالدرس والتحليل، محاولة استنباط آرائه، ولم الشتيت إلى شتيته، والوصول إلى تصور متكامل لمنهجه المتبع في البلاغة والنقد.
وتوصلت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من النتائج والتوصيات كان من أبرزها اتباع محمد بركات لمنهج تكاملي يسعى من خلاله إلى نظره شمولية للبلاغة تتجاوز الكلمة أو الجملة، وتربط البلاغة بالعلوم الأخرى، كما أظهرت الدراسة تأثر محمد بركات بالتراث البلاغي دون انقطاع عن البلاغة الجديدة بأخذ النافع من كليهما، إضافة إلى تتبعه إلى آراء من سبقه من علماء البلاغة والنقد، فلم ينفرد بآراء خاصة به، كما يرى أن القرآن الكريم من أصول فن البلاغة وكل دراسة تنقطع عن هذا الأصل تعد دراسة قاصرة-على حد قوله-

This study addresses one of the prominent figures of Arabic rhetoric in the modern era, Dr. Muhammad Barakat Abu Ali (may Allah have mercy on him), Professor of Rhetoric at the University of Jordan in Amman. It examines his significant rhetorical and critical contributions that enriched modern rhetorical-critical studies, as well as the rhetorical and critical issues he discussed in his works. The study also explores the extent of his influence by the classical rhetorical heritage and his efforts in serving the Arabic language and the Holy Qur'an, while extracting his views scattered throughout his writings.
The researcher relied on the descriptive-analytical method, examining and analyzing some of Muhammad Barakat?s works, attempting to extract his views, gather scattered ideas, and form a comprehensive understanding of his rhetorical and critical approach.
The study reached several findings and recommendations, most notably that Muhammad Barakat adopted an integrative methodology aimed at a comprehensive view of Arabic rhetoric that transcends the word or sentence and connects rhetoric with other sciences. The study also showed his influence by the rhetorical heritage without severing ties with modern rhetoric, selectively benefiting from both. Additionally, he followed the views of preceding scholars of rhetoric and criticism rather than proposing entirely original ideas. He also maintained that the Holy Qur'an constitutes a fundamental source of rhetorical art, and that any study disconnected from this source is considered deficient ? in his view
