يكون له تأثير كبير على تحسين النتائج الصحية ونوعية الحياة للمرضى الذين يعانون من مرض الكلى في المرحلة النهائية.قدّرت هذه الدراسة مستويات المعرفة والمواقف تجاه التبرع بالكلى بين طلبة التمريض الأردنيين، وهم مجموعة حيوية في التأثير على معدلات التبرع بالأعضاء .
الطريقة: استخدمت هذه الدراسة تصميم مستعرض تصاعدي مترابط. تم استخدام استبيان يُملأ ذاتياً لجمع البيانات من طلاب التمريض في المراحل العليا في أربعة مؤسسات أردنية. شمل الاستبيان 30 عبارة تقييمية تقيس المعرفة والمواقف بناءً على البحوث السابقة .
النتائج: كانت المتوسطة الحسابية لدرجات المعرفة الكلية بين طلاب التمريض 30.73 (الانحراف المعياري = 8.41)، مع تفوق بعض المواضيع على الأخرى، مثل المعرفة بأنواع المتبرعين المفضلة. بالنسبة للمواقف، كان المتوسط الكلي لدرجات المواقف 28.32 (الانحراف المعياري = 5.45) من أصل 41 درجة ممكنة. كانت هناك علاقة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين العمر ودرجتي المعرفة (r = 0.237، p = 0.002) والمواقف (r = 0.263، p = 0.001)، حيث أظهر طلاب التمريض الأكبر سناً معرفة أعلى ومواقف أكثر إيجابية. كانت درجات المعرفة أعلى بشكل ملحوظ لدى الطلاب الذين لديهم مستوى أعلى من التعليم للوالدين (p < 0.05). ولاحظت علاقة إيجابية بين المعرفة والمواقف (r = 0.397، p < 0.001)، مما يسلط الضوء على أهمية المواقف الإيجابية في تعزيز المعرفة .
الاستنتاجات: تقدم هذه الدراسة مساهمات كبيرة من خلال استقصاء معرفة ومواقف طلاب التمريض فيما يتعلق بتبرع الكلى. أظهرت الدراسة أن المشاركين لديهم معرفة محدودة بشأن التبرع بالكلى ويحملون آراء غير مواتية تجاهه. وهذا يسلط الضوء على ضرورة الحملات التثقيفية الخاصة وصياغة السياسات الموجهة نحو تحسين معدلات التبرع بالأعضاء في الأردن. فهم هذه الخصائص بين طلاب التمريض لديه الإمكانية للمساهمة بشكل كبير في حل تحديات ندرة الأعضاء وتعزيز الرعاية المركزة على المريض .

Background: knowledge and attitudes of nursing students towards kidney donation can help increase the number of organ donors, which can have a significant impact on improving the health outcomes and quality of life for patients with end-stage renal disease. This study examined the knowledge levels and attitudes towards kidney donation among Jordanian nursing students, a group pivotal in influencing organ donation rates.
Methods: This study used a cross sectional correlational design. A self-administered questionnaire was utilized to collect data from senior nursing students across four Jordanian institutions. The questionnaire included 30 -items assessing knowledge and attitudes based on existing research.
Results: The mean total knowledge score among nursing students was found to be 30.73 (SD = 8.41), suggesting a rather low level of overall knowledge. However, it is worth noting that some categories, such as knowledge regarding preferred donor types, had greater scores compared to others. Regarding attitudes, the mean total attitude score was 28.32 (SD = 5.45) out of a possible 41. Age significantly correlated with both knowledge (r = 0.237, p = 0.002) and attitudes (r = 0.263, p = 0.001), with older students demonstrating higher knowledge and more positive attitudes. Higher parental education levels were associated with greater knowledge (p < 0.05). A positive correlation was observed between knowledge and attitudes (r = 0.397, p < 0.001), highlighting the importance of positive attitudes in fostering knowledge.
Conclusions: This study offers significant contributions by examining the knowledge and attitudes of nursing students in relation to kidney donation. The study revealed that participants had limited knowledge of kidney donation and held unfavorable opinions towards it. This highlights the need for specific educational campaigns and the formulation of policies aimed at improving organ donation rates in Jordan. Gaining insight into these characteristics among nursing students has the potential to make a significant contribution towards the resolution of organ scarcity challenges and the enhancement of patient-centered care.
