The opinion of the Companion (Sahabi) is considered one of the most important secondary sources due to its significant importance. This is attributed to the Companion's contemporaneity with the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and the substantial influence it has on elucidating rulings based on his observation of the revelation and it is clearly shown that many issues and rulings rely on his opinion. The subject addressed in this study revolves around the impact of the Companion's opinion in the Maliki school and the extent to which his opinion is relied and authorized upon in juristic matters. The study also seeks to clarify the validity of his opinion and the extent to which the Maliki scholars agree on considering the Companion's opinion in matters of punishments, including Hudud (prescribed legal punishments), Qisas (retaliation), and Ta'zir (discretionary punishments). The study's findings indicate that the Companion's opinion has a significant impact in the Maliki school. It can serve as evidence or indicator and is considered a valid argument within their school of thought. The study further highlights the impact of the Companion's opinion in the areas of Hudud, Qisas, and Ta'zir according to the Maliki scholars
