هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى معرفة اثر استخدام تطبيق كاهوت (kahoot) على مهارة الفهم القرائي ونماء المفردات لدى متعلمي اللغة الإنجليزية كلغة أجنبية في الصف الرابع في الأردن. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، قامت الباحثة بتصميم أدوات الدراسة، التي اشتملت اختبار الفهم القرائي البعدي، واختبار نماء المفردات البعدي، والاستبانة. حيث تكونت عينة البحث من 44 طالباً وطالبة من مدرسة أم القرى في الأردن. حيث تم تقسيمهم إلى مجموعتين، تم تدريس المجموعة التجريبية باستخدام تطبيق كاهوت، بينما تم تدريس المجموعة الضابطة بالطريقة التقليدية. تم إجراء تحليل البيانات باستخدام المتوسط والانحراف المعياري واختبار t. أظهرت النتائج أن تطبيق كاهوت له تأثير إيجابي على مهارة الفهم القرائي لدى متعلمي اللغة الإنجليزية كلغة أجنبية في الصف الرابع في الأردن، كما أن تطبيق كاهوت له تأثير إيجابي على نماء المفردات لدى متعلمي اللغة الإنجليزية كلغة أجنبية في الصف الرابع في الأردن. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، فإن نتائج الدراسة أظهرت التأثير الإيجابي لتطبيق كاهوت على مواقف متعلمي اللغة الإنجليزية كلغة أجنبية في الصف الرابع في الأردن. في ضوء هذه النتائج، أوصت الدراسة بضرورة استخدام تطبيق كاهوت لتطوير مهارة الفهم القرائي ونماء المفردات في اللغة الإنجليزية كمادة في المناهج الابتدائية الأردنية. |

This study aimed to explore the effect of using Kahoot applications on the reading comprehension skills and vocabulary growth among the EFL students in Jordan.In addition, it aimed to know whether learning reading comprehension skills and vocabulary growth by using kahoot application is better than its learning by regular instruction. To achieve the objective of this study, the researcher adopted three study instruments, which are a post-reading comprehension test, post vocabulary growth test, and a Questionnaire. The study sample consisted of 44 EFL students were selected from um Al-Quora School in Jordan for boys during the second semester of the academic year 2020/2021. They were already divided into two groups, the experimental group, consisted of 22 students, was taught by using the Kahoot application, whereas the control group, consisted of 22 students, was taught by using the traditional method. Data analysis was conducted using mean, standard deviation, and t-test. The results showed that the Kahoot application had a positive effect on the reading comprehension skill and vocabulary growth of the experimental group of the EFL students in Jordan. The performance of the experimental group students in reading comprehension was significantly better than that of the control group. Moreover, the students of the experimental group noticed that using this strategy significantly helped them in comprehending texts. Considering these results, the study recommended the necessity of using the Kahoot application to develop reading comprehension skill and vocabulary growth inside the classroom |
