هدفت الدراسة لتحليل طبيعة وابعاد التنافس الدولي والاقليمي على الغاز في منطقة شرق البحر الابيض المتوسط خلال الفترة من 2011 ? 2021، واعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج التحليلي والمقارن ومنهج صنع القرار في تحقيق أهدافها، وخلصت الدراسة الى إن التنافس على السيطرة على الغاز الطبيعي في منطقة شرق المتوسط له اطراف متعددة سواء على المستوى الدولي أو الاقليمي، وأنه بالرغم التصعيد المستمر والمناوشات العسكرية المتزايدة وغياب اطار متكامل للتعاون، إلا أن المرجح هو عدم تحول التنافس لصراع شامل في المنطقة، وفي ضوء وجود العديد من الضوابط الداخلية والاقليمية والدولية ورغم الاشارة إلى صعوبة تحوّل الوضع إلى صراع شامل في المنطقة، إلا أنه من غير المرجح وجود حل للصراع في المدى المنظور، مع وجود احتمالات لتدويل الصراع بشكل قد يؤثر على مجمل منظومة الأمن الاقليمي ككل، وليس فقط الدول الأطراف في الصراع، وأوصت الدراسة بأنه من مصلحة كافة الأطراف الاقليمية ضمان عدم تحول التنافس في اكتشافات الغاز الى التوتر ومن ثم إلى صراع شامل لضمان تحقيق أمن الطاقة بمفهومه الشامل.

 The study aimed to analyze the nature and dimensions of the international and regional competition for gas in the eastern Mediterranean region during the period from 2011-2021, and the study relied on the analytical and comparative approach and the decision-making approach in achieving its objectives. It has multiple parties, whether at the international or regional level, and that despite the continuous escalation, the increasing military skirmishes, and the absence of an integrated framework for cooperation, it is likely that the competition will not turn into a comprehensive conflict in the region, and in light of the presence of many internal, regional and international controls, and despite the reference to the difficulty of turning the situation into one A comprehensive conflict in the region, but it is unlikely that there will be a solution to the conflict in the foreseeable future, with the possibility of internationalizing the conflict in a way that may affect the entire regional security system as a whole, and not just the states parties to the conflict. The study recommended that it is in the interest of all regional parties to ensure that it does not transform Competition in gas discoveries led to tension and then to a comprehensive struggle to ensure the achievement of energy security in its comprehensive sense
