تتفحص هذه الدراسة كلاً من شخصية "مونتريسور" في قصة برميل الأمونتيلادو لإدغار آلان بو وشخصية ?إدوارد روتشستر" في رواية جين إير لشارلوت برونتي، كشخصيتين إغوائيتين، مستمدة منهجيتها من نظرية الكاتب روبرت جرين في كتابه فن الإغواء. تركز الدراسة على الجوانب الثلاثة الآتية: الشخصية الإغوائية، والعملية الإغوائية، والوقت/البيئة الإغوائيين.
تتضمن الرسالة مقدمة وفصلين وخاتمة. تعرّف المقدمة بالعملين والكاتبين وتفصل نظرية جرين الواردة في كتابه فن الإغواء، كما وتعرض مراجعة للأدبيات ذات الصلة والمنهجية المتبعة. هذا ويتضمن الفصلين الأول والثاني تحليلا للشخصية الإغوائية، والعملية الإغوائية، والبيئة/الوقت الإغوائيين لكل شخصية على حدا، "مونتريسور" في الفصل الأول
و" روتشستر" في الفصل الثاني. أما الخاتمة فتشتمل على مقارنة أوجه التشابه والاختلاف بين الشخصيتين (مونتريسور وروتشستر) بوصفهما شخصيتين إغوائيتين.

الملخص بالانجليزي |
This study examines the seductive/manipulative nature of both Montresor, in Edgar Allan Poe's ?The Cask of Amontillado?, and Rochester, in Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre, in the light of Robert Green's theory outlined in The Art of Seduction. As such, the theoretical frame recruits Green's three aspects of seduction; namely: the seductive character, the seductive process and the seductive time/environment. The thesis includes an introduction, two chapters and a conclusion. The introduction introduces the works of Poe and Bronte, explicates Green?s The Art of Seduction, reviews the related literature and outlines the methodology. Chapters one and two analyze the seductive character, seductive process and seductive environment/time of both characters, each in a chapter. The conclusion compares and contrasts the two seducers (Montresor and Rochester).
