This study aimed to reveal the extent to which the concepts of political participation are included in the books of national and civic education for the upper basic stage in Jordan, by analyzing their content, using the descriptive analytical approach. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher prepared the study tool (analysis card), which included (23) concepts. Of the concepts of political participation, and their validity and stability were confirmed, and distributed into three areas: the field of cognitive concepts (9) concepts, the field of concepts of emotional values (7) concepts, and the field of behavioral concepts (7) concepts, and the study sample is from all pages of education books The national and civic concepts of the upper basic stage, except for the unit questions, and the results of the analysis showed that the most ranked concepts of political participation are the cognitive concepts in the first place, with a frequency of (41) times and a percentage (45.5%), and the concepts of emotional values in the second place and with a frequency of (26) times With a percentage of (29%), and the least inclusion of behavioral concepts in the third and last place, with a frequency of (21) times, and with a percentage of (25.5%). The results indicate an imbalance in the distribution of the concepts of political participation, and the study recommended presenting the concepts of political participation in a balanced manner and making the necessary amendments to the books of national and civic education for the upper basic stage, to include the absent concepts that were never referred to
