هدفت هذه الدراسة التعرف على التوجهات الغربية (الأمريكية والأوروبية) نحو الإسلام السياسي في الشرق الأوسط في الفترة من 2011- 2020، وكذلك دراسة التوجهات الغربية نحو الإسلام السياسي وحركات الإسلام السياسي خاصة بعد عام 2011 أي بعد ثورات الربيع العربي.
أجابت الدراسة على السؤال الرئيس وهو: ما التوجهات الغربية نحو الإسلام السياسي في الشرق الأوسط من 2011- 2020؟
استخدم الباحث المنهج التاريخي حيث استعرض نشوء حركات الإسلام السياسي تاريخياً وموقف الغرب من حركات الإسلام السياسي خاصة في فتره الحرب الباردة 1945 حتى 2020، وكذلك استخدم المنهج الوصفي التحليلي لوصف وذكر الأحداث المهمة لحركات الإسلام السياسي وإيديولوجيتها ومن ثم تحليل علاقات الغرب تجاهها.
ومن النتائج الهامة التي توصلت إليها الدراسة أن الغرب يرى أن حركات الإسلام السياسي قد عجزت عن تقديم نموذج ديمقراطي داخل هيكلها التنظيمي؛ لذا فإن سياسة الغرب اتجهت ضد عدائية تلك الحركات ومحاربتها ونصب العداء لها علما أن الولايات المتحدة وأوروبا قد قسمت تلك الحركات إلى حركات (معتدلة) وحركات متشددة من أجل التعامل معها.

This study aimed to identify the Western (American and European) trends towards political Islam in the Middle East in the period from 2011-2020, as well as study the Western trends towards political Islam and political Islam movements, especially after 2011, that is, after the Arab Spring revolutions.
The study answered the main question: What are the Western attitudes towards political Islam in the Middle East from 2011-2020?
The researcher used the historical method in which he reviewed the historical emergence of political Islam movements and the West?s position on political Islam movements, especially in the period of the Cold War from 1945 to 2020, as well as the descriptive and analytical approach to describe and mention the important events of political Islam movements and their ideology and then analyze the West?s relations towards them.
Among the important findings of the researcher is that the West believes that political Islam movements have been unable to present a democratic model within their organizational structure. Therefore, Western policy has tended against these movements to fight them and cause hostility to them, given that the United States and Europe have divided these movements into (moderate) movements and movements.
