ضمن إطار الدراسات النفسية, تسلط هذه الدراسة الضوء ومن ثم تتفحص إشكالية تشكيل و إعادة تشكيل الهوية في روايتين من روايات الشتات, وهما رواية جاسمين للكاتبة باهراتي موخرجي و رواية السميّ للكاتبة جومبا لاهيري. وعلى وجه الخصوص, تستهدف الدراسة إشكاليات تشكل الهوية المرتبطة بالوعي المزدوج والعزلة والحنين مع التركيز على قضايا مثل محو الهوية و التشرد. وستعتمد الدراسة على منهج التحليل النفسي في دراسة أدب الشتات بهدف تحليل بناء الهوية عند شخصيتي كل من جاسمين و قوقل.
تحتوي الرسالة على مقدمة وفصلين وخاتمة. توفر المقدمة عرضا شمولياً لأدب الشتات, كما تعرض الأدب السابق وتشرح المنهجية المتبعة في الدراسة. هذا ويشتمل الفصلان الأول والثاني على دراسة لعملية تشكيل الهوية عند شخصية جاسمين في رواية جاسمين(الفصل الأول), ومن ثم شخصية قوقل في رواية السميّ (الفصل الثاني). أما الخاتمة فتحتوي مقارنة حالة تشكل الهوية عند الشخصيتين الرئيسيتين في الروايتين قيد الدراسة. ولقد تبين حتمية استمرار تأثير الاصول في عملية تكوين هوية الشتات, و استحالة محو الهوية بشكل كامل وبدون بقاء أثار لتلك الأصول

Within a psychological framework, this thesis highlights and examines the problematics of identity erasure, construction and/or recreation in two diasporic novels, The Namesake (2003) by Jhumpa Lahiri and Jasmine (1989) by Bharati Mukherjee. In specific, the main problematics targeted in this study are alienation and nostalgia. Within these domains, issues of erasure and displacement are mainly brought under scrutiny. Hence, the study makes use of psychoanalytic studies of diasporic literature to examine the formation of identity of the characters of Jasmine and Gogol in the two novels. The thesis includes an introduction, two chapters, and a conclusion. The introduction offers a general account of diasporic literature, the review of related literature, and the methodology. Chapters one and two analyze the cause-effect equation of the process of diasporic identity formation and/or recreation of the protagonists of Mukherjee?s and Lahiri?s novels, respectively, and highlight, in the meantime, the psychological undercurrents of the diasporic experience and its impact on identity formation or erasure. The conclusion compares and contrasts the protagonists' attitudes, actions, and reactions within their diasporic experiences while forming their consequent identities. It has been found that it is inevitable for origins to persist in the process of diasporic identity formation; no matter how the immigrants adopt to the new culture, they inevitably retain some of their heritage. Besides, it turned out that it is impossible for identity to completely erase traces of origin |
