الملخص بالعربية |
مدينة نابلس احدى المدن الفلسطينية العريقة والتي يعود أصلها للكنعانيين, حيث حملت نابلس عدة أسماء تُستمد من الشعوب والقبائل التي تعاقبت عليها, مثل : نيابلوس و دمشق الصغرى.
اكتسبت نابلس أهميتها نظراً لموقعها الجغرافي وقد إحتلت المدينة المرتبة الأولى من بين المدن الفلسطينية من حيث السكان, أما بالنسبة للديانة فكان الدين الإسلامي هو دين غالبية السكان و أقليات يحملون الدين المسيحي .
في القرن التاسع عشر تم شمل نابلس في عملية الاصلاح الاداري التي كانت بقيادة الحكومة العثمانية, وكانت أحد أحداث ذلك الاصلاح إنشاء البلديات في مدن الدولة العثمانية, ففي عام 1868م تم إنشاء أول مجلس بلدي برئاسة رفعت تفاحة, و بقيت رئاسة البلدية تنتقل بين حوالي (27) رئيس منذ عام ( 1868-1918م), وقد تم انجاز العديد من التطورات التي تعمل على إزدهار المدينة و تطورها .
وفي عام 1918م قام البريطانيون بإحتلال مدينة نابلس, و غيروا الوضع الاداري حتى يتناسب مع المخططات البريطانية لإستعمار فلسطين لتكن وطناً قومياً لليهود, حيث كانت نابلس لواء وفي فترة أخرى أصبحت مركز للواء, وقد حاول البريطانيون الإستيلاء على المجلس البلدي بإعتباره عنواناً للمدينة.
وعلى الرغم من تلك المحاولات إلا أن المجلس بقي محافظاً على إنتمائه الوطني, للدفاع عن المدينة وتحقيق الإنجازات الخدمية للمدينة وأهلها .
ومن أهم الأعمال التي تقوم بها البلدية تنظيم المدينة والاشراف على أسواقها ونظافتها والعناية بالحركة العمرانية داخل المدينة, بالإضافة إلى أنّ البلدية كانت تقوم بالإشراف على المخططات والرخص وتقوم بالتأكد من سلامة الأبنية, حيث تميز البناء النابلسي بطابعه الخاص, مثل : الأبواب والنوافذ والنقوش والابواب.
كما أثر زلزال 1927م على مدينة نابلس وقد دمر جزءً كبير من عمران المدينة وقدّر ذلك بحوالي ثلثي المدينة, وذلك يعود الى ضعف البناء ولاسيما أن الزلزال كان ذات قوة كبيرة, وقد قامت البلدية بأعمال عديدة لمعالجة ما أفسده الزلزال وما نجم عنه من أثار تدميرية, وقامت بتوفير مساكن مؤقته لمنكوبي الزلزال |

Nablus is one of the ancient Palestinian cities, which is origins back to Canaanites. Historically, Nablus has several names from the cultures and tribes it has passed into, such as Neapolis and little Damascus.
It was ranked first among the Palestinian cities in terms of population, while in terms of religion, Islam had been the religion of the majority of the population and the Christian minorities.
In the nineteenth century, Nablus was incorporated into the Ottoman government administration reform process, one of which was the setting-up of towns in ottoman cities, in 1868 the first municipal council was established under the chairmanship of Refaat Tafah. During the period 1818 to 1868, presidents have been relocated as a municipal?s chairmanship. Moreover, many reforms to encourage the growth and development of the town have been accomplished.
The British in 1918 occupied Nablus City, and changed the administrative status to suit the British plans to colonize Palestine to be the status of the administrative offices in line with the British plane on the colonization of Palestine as a Jews ' national homeland since Nablus became the principal general and the Brigade at one time, the British attempted to assign the city title to the city's municipal council. The Council remained its national affiliation in spite of these efforts in order to protect the city and achieve the city and its people's service achievements.
One of the municipality's most important actions is to govern the city, manage its markets, clean them and take care of the social development inside the city, as well as the municipality monitoring the plans and permits and ensuring that the buildings are secure, as the Nabulsi building is differentiated by its sections, such as gates, glass, inscriptions, and doors.
The earthquake of 1927 also affected the city of Nablus. A bout two-third of the town was destroyed. This is due to poor construction; especially the quake was of high strength, the municipality did a lot of work to deal with the earthquake and its devastating effects, and provided temporary housing for the victims of the earthquake
