هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل محتوى كتاب الرياضيات للصف الثالث الأساسي في الأردن فيضوء معيارالأعداد والعمليات من معايير المجلس القومي لمعلمي الرياضيات (NCTM,2000)،وتحديداً فقد حاولت هذه الدراسة الإجابة عن السؤال الآتي :
ما مدى توفر معيار الأعداد والعمليات من معايير المجلس القومي لمعلمي الرياضيات (NCTM,2000) في كتاب الرياضيات للصف الثالث من مرحلة التعليم الأساسي في الأردن؟
وللإجابة عن سؤال الدراسة، تم إعداد أداة التحليل والتي تضمنت ثلاث معايير فرعية منمعيار الأعداد والعمليات عليهامن معاييرالمجلس القومي لمعلمي الرياضيات(NCTM,2000)،واشتملت الأداة بصورتها النهائية على سبعة عشرة فقرة، كما تم التحقق من صدقها وثباتها.
وأشارت نتائج الدراسة إلى أن محور(فهم الأعداد وطرق تمثيلها والعلاقات فيما بينها وكذلك الأنظمة العددية )، قد احتل المرتبة الأولى الأكثر تكراراً من بين محاور معيار الأعداد والعمليات وبنسبة (94,45%) من المجموع الكلي للتكرارات،تلاه في المرتبة الثانية محور (فهم معاني العمليات وكيفية ارتباطها ببعضها البعض) وبنسبة (26,34%).
فيما جاء في المرتبة الثالثة محور (سهولة وطلاقة الحساب وعمل التقديرات المعقولة) وبنسبة (80,19%)

The study aimed at analyzing the content of the Mathematics text book for thethird basic grade in Jordan in the light of number and operations criteria from the standards of the national council of mathematics teachers (NCTM, 2000). In particular, the study attempted to answer the following question:To what extent is the number and operations criterion from the standards of the national council of mathematics teachers (NCTM, 2000) represented in the Mathematics textbook for the third basic grade in Jordan?
For the purpose of answering the question, the number and operations criterion from the standards of the national council of mathematics teachers (NCTM,2000) was carefully examined, The study instrument consists of three minorcriteria from the number and operations criterion from the standards of the national council of mathematics teachers (NCTM,2000).The instrument consists of seventeen paragraphs. The validity and the reliability have been tested. The results of the study showed that the criterionof(the understanding ofnumber,its presentation, the relations among it, and the numeric systems as) is the most frequent of the other criteria with a percentage of(45,94%)of the overall total of frequencies. Then comes the criterion of (understanding the operations meaning and the way they associated with each others) with a percentage of (34,26%) followed by the criterion of ( the simplicity and fluency of the calculation and making the rational estimations
