هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى بيان تداعيات التدخل الأمريكي في العراق وأثر ذلك على العلاقات العراقية الأردنية في الفترة من 2003حتى 2014, وتوضيح طبيعة العلاقات التاريخية بين العراق والأردن في المراحل التاريخية المختلفة والمتمثلة بالعهد الملكي والجمهوري حتى نهايته, وبيان طبيعة العلاقات بعد الاحتلال الأمريكي, كما وسعت الدراسة إلى معرفة الأهداف والمصالح الأمريكية في العراق, وتقديم احتمالات عن مستقبل العلاقات العراقية الأردنية في ضوء المحددات التي تؤثر سلباً أو إيجاباً على العلاقة بينهما.
واستخدمت الدراسة منهج المصلحة الوطنية, باعتبار أن للعراق والأردن مصالح وطنية لكل منهما في القطر الآخر, علاوةً على المصالح القومية للولايات المتحدة الأمريكية من خلال تدخلها في العراق, وتمت الاستعانة بنظرية الدور في العلاقات الدولية نظراً للدور الذي يلعبه كل من الأردن والعراق في القطر الآخر, إلى جانب الدور الذي لعبته الولايات المتحدة في العراق.
وأجابت الدراسة على السؤال المحوري لها : ما أثر تداعيات التدخل الأمريكي في العراق على العلاقات العراقية الأردنية؟ وتوصلت إلى جملة من النتائج كان أهمها: أن البعد الأمريكي كان حاضراً في العلاقات العراقية الأردنية حتى بعد احتلال العراق عام 2003, وكان للاحتلال الأمريكي للعراق دوراً في تحديد أشكال العلاقات بين العراق والأردن, حيث أوجد تقارباً بينهما من خلال توقيع اتفاقيات بين البلدين في المجالات الاقتصادية والعسكرية والأمنية, اضافة إلى ذلك فإن علاقة الأردن بالعراق وثيقة, منذ تشكيل المملكة العراقية حتى الآن, إلا أن العلاقات شابها نوعاً من فترات الركود بسبب الأوضاع العربية والأقليمية والدولية وتباين المصالح

This study aimed to identify the statement of the repercussions of the US intervention in Iraq and its impact on the Iraqi - Jordanian relations from 2003 to 2014, and to clarify the nature of the historical relations between Iraq and Jordan in different historical stages of the Royal and Republican Covenant to the end, and the statement of the nature of relations after the US occupation of Iraq, as The study sought to investigate the goals and interests of the US in Iraq, it aimed to provide possibilities of the future of the Iraqi-Jordanian relations in the light of the determinants that negatively or positively affect between them.
The study used approach to the national interest, considering that Iraq, Jordan had national interests for each the other, as well as the national interests of the United States of America through its interference in Iraq, the study used the theory of role in international relations because of the played role by both Jordan and Iraq. Moreover, the role which played by the United States in Iraq.
The study tried to answer the central question : What are the effect repercussions of the US intervention in Iraq and its effect on the Iraqi-Jordanian relations? The study revealed a set of results and the most important: that the American dimension was present in Iraq - the Jordanian relations even after the occupation of Iraq in 2003, the US occupation of Iraq had a role in determining the forms of relations between Iraq and Jordan, which created a convergence between the two countries through the signing of agreements in different fields such as economic military and security, in addition, Jordan has stable relationship with Iraq, since the formation of the Kingdom of Iraq until now, but that relations were marred by some sort of recession because of the Arab, regional and international situations which they varied interests
