اهتمت هذه الدراسة بتتبع ظاهرة الحذف الإسنادي في كتاب حديث الأربعاء لطه حسين؛ ذلك أنه احتوى على نماذج من الحذف الإسنادي، يمكن أن تكون ممثلة لظاهرة الحذف في اللغة العربية, حيث إن ظاهرة الحذف تحتل مكانة بارزة في اللغة العربية, وتعد من السمات البلاغية المهمة, فإن وجودها في الكلام يحتمل أكثر من تأويل أو تقدير, وهي دلالة على سعة العربية وتعدد أوجهها.
وهدفت هذه الدراسة إلى بيان الحذف الإسنادي في كتاب حديث الأربعاء, معتمدة في ذلك المنهج التحليلي, وذلك بتحليل التراكيب وفق النظرية التوليدية التحويلية؛ لأن كتاب حديث الأربعاء اشتمل على جوانب نحوية وبلاغية متعددة، ولم يحظَ بدراسة وافية وفق هذا المنهج.
ولعل من أهم النتائج التي توصلت إليها هذه الدراسة, أن الحذف الإسنادي في كتاب حديث الأربعاء لم يستوف كل أنواع الحذف الإسنادي التي وضعها النحاة .
واقتضت طبيعة الدراسة تقسيمها إلى تمهيد وثلاثة فصول, أما التمهيد, فقد تحدثت الدراسة فيه عن حياة طه حسين, والحديث عن كتابه حديث الأربعاء, وفي الفصل الأول تناول الجانب النظري في الحذف الإسنادي, وأما الفصل الثاني, فقد تناولت الدراسة فيه عن الحذف في الجملة الإسنادية الاسمية, وفي الفصل الثالث تحدثت الدراسة عن الحذف الإسنادي في الجملة الفعلية, ثم ختمت الدراسة بأهم نتائجها.

The study tracked the phenomenon of the predicative ellipsis within the Hadith Ala'rbia'a book, by Taha Hussain, because it contained models of the predicative ellipsis that could be representative to the ellipsis phenomena in the Arabic language. It is known that the predicative ellipsis is an important phenomenon in Arabic and considered an important eloquent feature because its presence in the speech brings different interpretations, which is an indicator of the broadness and multiple expressions in Arabic.
The study aimed to explain the predicative ellipsis within Hadith Ala'rbia'a using the analytical approach, which analyze the structures based on the transformational generative theory. This approach was used because the book contains multiple grammatical and rhetorical aspects and did not get enough study based on that method.
The most important result of the study indicated that the predicative ellipsis in Hadith Ala'rbia'a did not include all the kinds of predicative ellipsis that were developed by the grammarians.
The study was divided into a preface and three chapters. The preface talked about Taha Hussain's biography and his book, Hadith Ala'rbia'a. The first chapter contained the theoretical aspect of the predicative ellipsis; the second chapter explained the predicative ellipsis in noun phrases; the third chapter talked about the predicative ellipsis in the verb phrases; and the study was concluded with its important results.
