Abstract
The Artistic Image in the Poetry of Ibn Muneer Al-Tarabulsi
The study aimed at the artistic image in the poetry of Ibn Muneer Al-Tarabulsi (473H-548H), on of poets of the sixth Hijri century's states, this research is divided to a briefing, introduction, three chapters, and a conclusion.
The briefing included defining the image in language within a group of old and modern linguistic dictionaries, it was divided into two sections, in the first section, traced the concept of the image for the ancient Arabs and its beginnings, then, its concept for the modern, in the light of opinions that discussed the concept of the image, its indications, and its beauty in the poetic concrete, the second section was tracing and translation for the life of Al-Tarabulsi, his name, origin, life, raise, death, culture and his collection of poems.
The first chapter included the subjects of the image in Ibn Muneer poetry, in two parts; the first, the image of human, which is: the image of the praised, satire, enemy, and virgin's flirt. The second part, the nature's silent and the animated image.
The second chapter discussed the components that form the image in Ibn Muneer's poems, applied in two subjects, the first: rhetorical forming of simile, metaphor, and metonymy. The second: the sensual images in Al-Tarabulsi's poems, which are: the visual images (chromaticity, light and animated), the acoustic, gustative, tactual, olfactory images, and sense correspondence.
The third chapter was an artistic study in Ibn Muneer Al-Tarabulsi's poetry, as for language, rhetoric, music, artistic study for texts of his poetry, and applying for text poems.
The study concluded with the most important findings, which were that more than two thirds of Ibn Muneer Al-Tarabulsi's poetry were about Jihad (holy war) since he witnessed the wars between crusaders and Muslims, including artistic purposes of praise, satire, description, flirting, nature, and other secondary artists, his poetry was realistic, the images imitated the reality and were derived from the cultural heritage, featured by imitation, resembled to modernization, forming new concepts in flirting, in addition to his creativeness in generating expressions from foreign expressions and from names of cities and places, due to the crusader's invasion and the entrance of foreign and Persian languages to them which was obvious in his poetry, in addition to his artistic utilization of rhetoric and music as kinds of beauty, and utilization of the components to enhance the rhythm and harmony in the poems in order to show the contradiction between both parties in the struggle zone, in which these components are considered to enhance the rhythm, to show beauty, and to bring harmony into poetry, but without artificial efforts, since the poetry was about war and from the reality that Ibn Muneer lived, and originated from his soul, senses, and his artistic taste
