تناولت هذه الدراسة الصور العقلية في شعر المتنبي، محاولة تأسيس بعض التوقعات التي حكمت اللغة عند المتنبي، وأن تتعرف على قدرة منطق اللغة عند المتنبي للتأثير بالمتلقي، ولعلها استطاعت ان ترصد تحركات هذه الكلمة ثم تواكب تغير دلالتها إن كانت مفردة أو في التركيب.
وتبعاً لطبيعة الدراسة، جرى تقسيم الرسالة الى مقدمة، وثلاثة مفصول وخاتمة، تناول في الفصل الأول: حدود الصورة العقلية وتجليات الحدث، إذا توزع هذا الفصل على أربعة مباحث، والفصل الثاني: العالم العجائبي في الصور العقلية عند المتنبي وتوزع على أربعة مباحث، وجاء الفصل الثالث: أسس التجريد الفكري في الصور العقلية عند المتنبي في أربعة مباحث.
أبرز النتائج التي توصلت الدراسة إليها هي:
1- احتوى شعر المتبني من خلال القصائد قيد التحليل على العديد من الصور العقلية والتي تبرز قدرة المتبني على توظيف الالفاظ في نقل الصور الشعرية المختلفة.
2- تميز شعر المتبني بعالم من الخيال العجائبي يبتكر تلك الصور في طبقات وجودها والموجودة في شعره.
3- ينمو عند المتبني منق اللغة الواعية التي تتصاهر مع جوارها في طرق تظافر المعنى القصدي مع أساليب لغوية تتنوع بين النحو والبلاغة.
4- تميزت الصور العقلية في شعر المتبني بشيوع العاطفة والبلاغة.
5- وظف المتبني النحو في بناء الصور العقلية العديدة في شعره كما استطاع توظيف المفردات المعجمية

This study dealt with the mental images in al-Mutanabi poetry, an attempt to establish some expectations that ruled the language at al-Mutanabi, and to recognize the ability of the logic of the language at Mutanabi to influence the recipient, and perhaps able to monitor the movements of this word and then keep up with the change of significance, whether it is single or in the composition.
According to the nature of the study, the thesis was divided into an introduction, three chapters and a conclusion. The first chapter deals with the limits of the mental picture and the manifestations of the event. If this chapter is divided into four sections, the second chapter is the miraculous world in the mental images of al-Mutanabi. Third: The basis of intellectual abstraction in the mental images of Mutanabi in four questions.

The main findings of the study are:
- The research found the ways in which al-Mutanabi established the ability of growth to penetrate the monologue of the single word with the invention of new meanings for the meaning of the word within the scope of an effective structure that was able to explore new indications.
- The research made a consensus between the Arab heritage in literature and grammar on the one hand with the latest theories of reception and literary intent on the other hand.
- The research went beyond theoretical analysis and penetrated the depth of the functional analysis of the structure of the language at Mutanabi.
- Research Discuss the idea of the world of wonder at Mutanabi according to a modern linguistic perspective.
- The researcher reached the results of the call Mutanabi of religious values, social and linguistic different, in order to the majority of recipients in accordance with the frameworks of conflict, which ensures attention to theses language and intellectual
