First: scientific forums

the Unit has organized eight scientific forums in cooperation with the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, namely:

1_ the First Scientific Meeting: held in April 2001, with the participation of (27) researchers and under the title: "Omani Heritage, Past and Present".

2_ the Second Scientific Forum: held in May 2002 with the participation of (20) researchers and under the title: "Sources of Omani History". The main goal of the form was to define the sources of Omani history and provide scientific and academic studies on those sources. In addition, it aimed to demonstrate its significance among the sources of Arab and Islamic heritage.

3_ the Third Scientific Forum: held in April 2004, with the participation of (35) researchers and under the title: "Transformations in Modern and Contemporary Omani Society". The conference included themes related to the political and economic development, and social, educational, and contemporary jurisprudence, and Oman's foreign relations, and the place of women in Oman.

4_ the Fourth Scientific Forum: held in May 2005, with the participation of (34) researchers and under the title: "the Omani Foreign Relationships in the Twentieth Century". The forum aimed to monitor aspects of the distinguished international relationships which link between Oman and other nations at the political, economic, and social level. These relationships which characterise the Omani constant foreign policy during the reign of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.

5_ the Fifth Scientific Forum: held in July 2006 with the participation of (56) researchers and under the title "the International Symposium of AlKhalil bin Ahmed AlFaraheedi". This Symposium was organized on the sidelines of the cultural events organized by the occasion of choosing Muscat as the capital of Arab culture for the year 2006. The Symposium addressed the personal aspects of the Omani scholar AlKhalil bin Ahmed AlFaraaheedi, and the scientific heritage he left behind and his contributions to the development of Arabic language and literature.

6_ the Sixth Scientific Forum: held in March 2008 and under the title: "he International Symposium of Alawtabi of Sahaar". The Symposium was attended by (45) researchers who presented papers covered Alawtabi"s personal and intellectual life and legacy in addition to his intellectual contributions in the field of jurisprudence, history, language and literature.

7_ A Seminar in Jordanian-Omani Relationships: held in the month of December 2008. The seminar addressed academic papers which covered the Jordanian contributions in the modern Omani renaissance. This includes the military, economic, and media domains. In addition, the seminar involved some testimonies presented by Jordanian figures worked in the Sultanate.

8_ the Seventh Scientific Forum: held in 2009 and under the title: ((Ibn Duraid Azdi)). More than (100) researchers have participated in the forum, and they presented papers which covered many aspects of the personality of Ibn Duraid, and his expertise in Arabic language, history and genealogy.

-9_ A Seminar on Waqf (Endowment) in Oman between the past and present: the seminar is organized in 2010 and in cooperation with Omani Studies Centre at Sultan Qaboos University. It dealt with aspects of the Foundation of Endowment and its tributaries in the Omani heritage in addition to the contemporary developments that have taken place on the concept of Endowment.

الملتقى العلم10_the Eighth Scientific Forum: held between 11-12 October 2011 and under the title "Omani-Maghrebi Cultural Communication in Modern Era (1)". Over seventy researchers and scholars from sixteen Arab and Muslim countries attended the forum. They tackled the different prospects of cultural exchange between Oman and the countries of Arab Maghreb starting with the bearers of knowledge and science, the correspondences between the Imams, and ending with the efforts of institutions and individuals. The forum highlighted also the cultural dimension of the Omani-Maghrebi relationships.

11_ the Ninth Scientific Forum: held between 10 and 11 July 2012 and under the title: "Suleiman Pasha Baroni and his Presence in the Omani Culture". Ninety scientists and researchers have participated in this forum representing twenty-seven scientific Arab and Islamic institutions. Papers dealt with the life of Sheikh Suleiman Pasha Baroni: his upbringing, scientific and political life, and his presence in the Omani culture. The forum has followed his travels and studied his academic works and political messages.

12- the Tenth Scientific Forum: held between 14 and 15 April 2014 and under the title: "al-Mubarred al-Azdi: His Scientific Efforts and Criticism Effects". Over seventy researchers and scholars attended the forum. Papers dealt with status of al-Mubarred in Arabic grammar and Literary studies, and criticism, and Quran readings, and Lighting important sides of his personality and his life and the Positions of ancient Scholars of his thought effects and his books.

Second: of Omani Book Award

Beginning from the year 2004, the Omani Studies Unit has announced an award with the title Omani Book Award. The aim of this book is to encourage contemporary scholars to the specialized writing about Omani Studies in past and present in order to enrich the Omani library with serious and sober academic studies. The Award aims also to highlight the role of Omani Studies Unit at Al al-Bayt University in the service of Omani heritage and its contemporary Studies.

Third: Heritage Exhibitions

The Omani Studies Unit has organized several exhibitions about Omani heritage and in cooperation with the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman and the Omani Cultural Office and Students Club. Many exhibitions involved also the participation of Omani students who are studying Al al-Bayt University and other Jordanian universities. The exhibitions presented examples of traditional Omani dishes and other popular exhibits such as models, images, fashion, armory and which represent aspects of the traditional life of Omani society. In addition, these exhibitions and book fairs have illustrated several aspects of modern Omani renaissance in industry, trade, and agriculture. Many visitors and members of the faculty and students at the university attended these events in addition to other guests from the local community.

Fourth: lectures, ceremonies, scientific trips

The Unit has organized several lectures presented by professors and specialists in several aspects of various disciplines of knowledge. Many Jordanian and Omani students at Al al-Bayt University have attended these lectures. The themes of these lectures have varied between jurisprudence, literature, language, history and several political, economic, and educational domains. They have addressed specialized topics about Oman or other common cultural affairs in addition to the celebration of Omani national holidays. The Unit has organized a number of educational trips for Omani students. They involved visiting religious places and tourist sites and cultural monuments and in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. These trips aim to enrich the students' knowledge about Jordan and achievements.

Fifth: Mentoring Omani students studying at Al al-Bayt University

The Unit is in charge of guiding Omani students who undertake their undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Al al-Bayt University. The Unit assists in solving any academic problems which might face Omani students and obstruct their academic career.
