How can a student postpone his study and what is the maximum period allowed for postponement?

 

The student shall fill in a form of postponement received from the Admission and Registration Department before the start of the semester that the student wishes to postpone. The student may postpone his study at the University up to a maximum of four semesters, whether connected or separate.

Is it allowed to transfer from a private university to Al al-Bayt University?

 

It is not allowed to transfer from a private university. A new admission application may be submitted according to the rules and regulations.

Is it possible to accept a student who is academically dismissed from his specialty at Al al-Bayt University?

 

The student may be accepted in the same specialty if he/she is academically dismissed from this specialty at another university provided that he/she is not disciplinarily dismissed from that university. As for the dismissed student from his specialty at Al al-Bayt University, he/she is not allowed to be admitted at the University.

Is it permissible for a student who has completed the requirements of graduation from the University to study courses to raise his cumulative average?

 

A student, who has completed the requirements of obtaining the bachelor degree and his graduation has not been decided yet, can study for one semester with no more than (12) credit hours of his/her college courses and he/she is treated according to the Private Study regulations.

If the student repeats a course which he successfully passed and fails after repeating it, which of the two grades are calculated?

 

The highest grade is calculated.

Can a student study one course or more at another university?

 

The student can study no more than (36) hours at another university recognized by Al al-Bayt University and according to the following conditions:

1.     Having a grade of (60%) in the courses to be studied at the other university.

2.     Spending the last two semesters at Al al-Bayt University.

3.     Having prior approval from the faculty.

4.     Completing (36) credit hours at Al-Bayt University.

Is it allowed to transfer from the Parallel program to the Regular one?

 

It is not allowed to transfer from the Parallel to the Regular Program.

What is the maximum limit for the registered courses?

 

The maximum number of hours a student may study in the regular semester is 19 hours and may exceed to 22 if the student is expected to graduate, or the cumulative or semester average in the previous term is not less than very good and with a load not less than 12 hours in that term. In summer semester, a student can study (10) hours only unless he/she is expected to graduate he/she can register (13) hours and may register (12) hours if the semester or cumulative average is not less than very good in the previous term and with a load not less than (12) hours in that term.

What are the transfer requirements at Al al-Bayt University?

 

1.     There is a vacancy in the corresponding specialty.

2.     To be transferred from a university and enrolled in the Regular Program.

3.     To have successfully completed 30 credit hours at least and with an average not less than Good.

4.     The student's General Secondary Average is accepted in the specialty to be transferred to at Al al-Bayt University.

5.     Not receiving any disciplinary penalty at the university to be transferred from.

How to transfer from one specialty to another at the University and what is the date of transfer?

 

The transfer date shall be in May of each year (please follow the announcements of the Admission and Registration Department). The transfer shall be effective from the first and second semesters according to the following requirements:

1.     To have a vacant seat.

2.     The student's General Secondary Average is accepted in the specialty to be transferred to in the year of having the General Secondary or the transfer year competitively.

3.     No transfer to be made for more than one time.

4.     The student can transfer from a higher-level specialty to a lower-level one.

Can the placement test be repeated?

 

It is not allowed to repeat the placement test after being taken.

When can one apply to the Parallel Program?

 

The application to the Parallel Program is submitted in January or August of each year (please follow the announcements of the Admission and Registration Department). This will be done through the University website and according to the Parallel Program announcements.

How can I get proof of a student?

 

Proof of a student can be obtained by accessing the electronic portal (request of documents), filling in the form, saving it, and checking the Admission and Registration Department next day for receiving it.

What is the University calendar?

 

It is a calendar showing the dates of the academic activities at the University (start and end of the academic semesters, withdrawal and addition periods, and final exam dates). - To access the University calendar click here.

What is the study plan?

It is the courses that the student must study to complete the requirements for obtaining the University degree, and consists of:

1.     University Compulsory Requirements

2.     University Optional Requirements: (9 credit hours) to be chosen by the student from outside his faculty, provided that each course is one of the following fields:

·                    Human Sciences.

·                    Social and Economic Sciences.

·                    Science, Technology, and Health.

3.     Faculty Compulsory Requirements.

4.     Faculty Optional Requirements.

5.     Specialty Compulsory Requirements.

6.     Specialty Optional Requirements.

When should I apply for the placement tests?

 

All students must take the tests in Arabic, English and Computer during the first and second semesters of the enrolment date and for only one time.

What happens if one fails in one or all of the placement tests?

 

An applicant who fails to pass any of these tests must register a remedial course (099) outside his/her study plan. (That is no hours are counted within the credit hours required for graduation).

What is the pre-requisite?

 

It is the course students are required to pass before they study the next course.

What happens when a student is absent from the final exam?

 

In case of the absence of the student from the announced final exam, the total score of the grades before the final exam is recorded. And in case the student submits an excuse accepted by the Dean of Faculty/Institute in which the course is taught within two weeks from the date of the examination, the Dean informs the Head of the Department and the instructor of the course to hold a make-up exam for the student. The make-up exam shall take place within a period maximum at the end of the withdrawal and addition period of the regular or summer semester (in which the student is enrolled) following the semester in which the student was absent from the exam by an acceptable excuse and within a time determined by the instructor for all the students whose excuses are accepted.

Is there a university accommodation for students?

 

There is accommodation on the campus for female students only.

Is summer semester compulsory?

 

Summer semester is an optional.

When can I balance the semester fees if I decide to withdraw from it and when does the withdrawal turn into a drop?

If the admitted student (old students) withdraws from the semester in which the fees were balanced, he/she is entitled to balance the University fees as the following percentages:

a.      Fees are paid back at a percentage of (100%) if the withdrawal is before the start of withdrawal and addition.

b.     Fees are paid back at a percentage of (90%) if the withdrawal is during the withdrawal and addition.

c.      Fees are paid back at a percentage of (50%) if the withdrawal is after the withdrawal and addition and up to the end of the fourth week of the semester in which the student withdraws.

d.     The Admission and Registration Department is the authority to determine the date of admission.

Note: No fees shall be paid back if the withdrawal is after the periods specified above.

How are the courses studied by students in other universities or colleges equated?

The student at Al al-Bayt University can equate not more than (50%) of the total credit hours determined in accordance with the plan of the specialty to which he/she is transferred upon his request according to the form prepared for this purpose and available at the Academic Department based on the following rules and procedures:

1.     The mark of the equivalent course shall not be less than (60%).

2.     The description and vocabulary of the course to be equated shall be identical not less than (75%) to the course description in the plan of the specialty to which the student is transferred. And the level of the course to be equated is not different from the level of the course in the plan of the specialty to which the student is transferred in more than one year.

3.     The priority of the course equation is given to the University compulsory and optional requirements in the student's plan, then the faculty and specialty requirements.

4.     For the purpose of counting the maximum limit of equation, the equated placement courses are not included

5.     The equation application shall be submitted for one time only and during the first semester of transfer.

Can I re-study any course that I have succeeded in?

 

The student may re-study any compulsory or optional course in which he/she succeeds and his/her mark is less than (60%) according to his/her study plan.
