1- course  objectives :

English 4 is an elective course at the advanced level. It contains skills needed in learning a second language. It concentrates more on reading and writing. It introduces grammar in more details. It provides a comprehensive coverage of the grammatical and lexical system of the English language, to help students analyze the system of language in use. It encourages students to think in English and to express their thoughts and opinions about the world and to compare and contrast their culture to other cultures.

 

2- The syllabus:

This book consists of 12 units each unit includes: language study, reading, speaking, listening and writing. It provides students with all kinds of productive and revision exercises. Reading extracts are taken from literature and quality press discussing contemporary issues. Listening part is taken from interviews with well-known people both English and American introducing students to the two versions of English.
